This is a project we had for 2D design, boy did it take a long time to get all of the little details in.. but it was worth it for sure! Finally a piece I could be a little more creative with! With all of the school work and portfolio work, I am having trouble finding time for my own work, I will upload some stuff I have been working on as soon as I can.
This project's theme was "September, October, November". My initial thought was to jump into something like Remembrance day or a memorial of September 11th, something serious, that I could really represent well. However, as I was doing thumbnails, I became a little uncomfortable. I wanted to challenge myself to deal with a serious theme, but it just wasn't represented in the way I envisioned.
I switched to a general theme : Autumn.
I have always loved doing forests and thought this would be the perfect project to do a more illustrative piece!
We did a three colour process with gouache -- the first, was to be painted in greyscale (grayscale??? GRAY OR GREY) the next was using one colour mixed with white, and finally using the same colour mixed with grey.. gray?... :/
Anyways enjoy!
