Digital Tools Short film!!

It is finally done!! For digital tools we had to display our understanding of adobe premiere with a short film!
We had to include at least 3 coloured layouts, 3 seconds of animation, 3 transitions, 5 layer moves and 5 sound effects/music!!

I think it turned out pretty cool, the animation is choppy, but it was a lot of work to do this on top of all of our other assignments, I am pretty happy with it!! The song in the video is written by my boyfriend Adam :) (Such talent)

Some of the layouts used:

Hope you guys liked it :)

Textures!

At long last here are my texture studies for Painting class!
I loved this project, it was lots of fun to do, but also a lot of work (and quite a few failed attempts!)

I think they came out pretty okay!

These are done with gouache and took a really long time each.. i'd say about 6 hours each... yeah..
It was a good project though really got me playing around with gouache -- although it is an expensive paint to experiment with hahaha.

I hope you like them!!
will have a few updates coming a long. Lots of work!!

The thumbnails were a lot of fun to do! Experimentation with colour and technique is always great!
Doing a large cloud study is hard hahaha (8 x 12)

Royal Winter Fair - Animal Portfolio...

This past weekend our class took a trip to the Royal Agricultural Winter fair to study and draw animals!
We needed a large amount of drawings for a portfolio we did, and I ended up returning a second time to get some more sketches. 3 pages of gestures 6 per page : 18 and 3 pages of studies, 2 per page : 6
 24 drawings in total.

I did more than that in the end, and even included some extra studies in the portfolio because I was happy with them!
It was very stressful on Saturday - my hand was numb from excessive drawing, and I wasn't too happy with my drawings. When I came back on Monday though it was less busy and therefore less stressful. I stayed for a little and got some great drawings!

Anyways enjoy!!

Cute Title Page!
Gestures 30 seconds - 5 minutes

I may not be the best at animals, but I am pretty happy with this portfolio, I was very worried I wouldn't get enough decent drawings, but I think it turned out pretty good!

Thanks for reading! I shall have more for you soon!

Bad news.. & 3 panel Layout assignment!!!

This Thursday I went to the doctor about my hand/wrist. Lately it had been hurting a lot while drawing and often going numb.... Turns out I have carpal tunnel. It really sucks and is one of the worst things that could happen. I am trying to take care of it by wearing a BEAST of a brace and icing it as much as I can. Hopefully it doesn't get worse. It is very frustrating but I am doing okay.

anyways...

Layout class is a little vague, but I do enjoy the homework. Here is my 3 panel layout assignment. We had to create a 3 panel story using the stage we created for the last assignment (http://www.sarahkieley.blogspot.ca/2013/10/layout-render-character-in-environment.html)
Hope you guys enjoyed it! These are done with pencil on paper then added a little bit of extra rendering on the computer.
Thanks for taking a look!
See you soon!
